Our Future

Today, Allen Temple has approximately 1600 Members and over 47 ministries serving its membership and the surrounding community.  We give All Glory to God for his wonderful work in and through Allen Temple Church and pray for His continued guidance in the works and service of His people.

Our education facility housed directly behind the sanctuary includes a small chapel with remnants of the original church including stained glass windows, pews, and alter.  It is used for private prayer as well as a housing our children's church services which are held each second and third Sunday during the 11:00 AM service.

In September of 2006, The Christian Education Advisory Committee started looking into laying the groundwork for a high quality Christian based Pre-school in the Woodstock area. Allen Temple Christian Academy (ATCA) was founded in 2007. Allen Temple Christian Academy reinforces the church’s desire and commitment to train children in the way that God has ordained and to equip them for academic excellence and long term success.

Through, the leading of the Holy Spirit, the church’s focus was to reach beyond its walls. Adopting a theme of "Being a Community of Unity", Allen Temple instituted programs aimed at demonstrating Jesus’ love for all people, to its neighbors. Our Nursing Home Outreach, Boys Mentoring Ministry and Missionary programs, along with our partnerships with ministries such as Angel Food and MUST Ministries, were just the beginning of our efforts to impact the Woodstock community for the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

In 2011, Pastor Moore had another vision of taking our message to the community with "Pass It On". Our aim was to win souls to Christ, meet the needs of people in the Woodstock and surrounding communities and hold an event for Christian focused fellowship. We took our program of sharing the gospel message to Woodstock Park for an all day event for the community. Food, fun and fellowship were in abundance. But the greatest thing of all was that souls were saved!

As of  2013, Allen Temple has approximately 1513 members and 44 ministries serving its membership and the surrounding community. Allen Temple Christian Academy has expanded to five classes with nine employees, one of which is a full time director. We have a bookstore named in honor of one of our members, Ruth McAfee. Allen Temple A.M.E. Church continues to grow and prosper under the leadership of Pastor Carl A. Moore, Sr. and a dedicated ministerial staff. We rejoice from the past and leap into the future.
